Halfway to Christmas!

With today being June 25, we are officially only SIX months away from Christmas Day! The only thing that excites me more than that is that it means we are even CLOSER to the beginning of fall and my absolute favorite season.  September through December is definitely my "happy time" of the year.  Am I the only one that enjoys the buildup to Christmas arguably more than Christmas Day itself?

If you've been a regular around here for any length of time, you already know that I am a lover of all things seasonal. I love the changes in the weather, the festive decor, the fresh fruits/vegetables that make their glorious seasonal appearance, and oh my, the TRADITIONS!

Plus, people are generally nicer to each other during the Christmas season, and I like nice people a whole lot.

If you're a scrooge not into the holidays as much as I am, you might want to skip this post right now. But if the thought of crisp weather, the smell of pine, brown paper packages tied up with string, and Christmas hymns make your stomach flutter a little, then please do the following:
  1. Pour a mug of something warm.
  2. Hop over to Pandora and put on the "Peaceful Holidays" station (my personal holiday favorite).
  3. Settle in for 10 minutes and enjoy this overwhelming amount of Christmas on your screen.
You'll be able to tell from my inspiration photos below that when it comes to Christmas decor, I actually have a pretty simplistic style.  To me, the Christmas season is all about joy and peace and making memories.  I love glitzy, glittery, over-the-top Christmas decor so very much....outside my home. I love looking at what other people put together who are able to pull off that style.  In my own home, we do fresh greenery and white candles; we do bigger pieces, less items.

Just in case that wasn't enough pretty for you, take a pass through Paige Knudsen's Christmas home tour from last year. To say that I love her decorating style would be a supreme understatement.

If you've made it this far and aren't supremely annoyed with me yet, please email me. We're meant to be friends.

Merry Six Months Til' Christmas!

  3. Haha I love this! You're so cute with your excitement! I get so overwhelmed by the thought of putting everything away that I start to not want to decorate. And, I'm severely allergic to pine, which is depressing. I wanted to go cut down a tree at a farm the first year we got here since there are farms all over town...but I got a sinus infection within 2 days of the tree at work going up. So, fake tree it is.

  4. Wow 6 months away already! I haven't even started thinking about summer until this week! I can't even go near the fall yet. I need many more beach days first!!!

  7. I think 6 months away makes it a good time to start thinking about our basset santa hat photo shoot that needs to happen. OR one of our (big) boys in a sled and have our little, handsome boys as reindeer...

  8. Yay for Christmas! It is also my favorite time of year.

I admit that I am not one for summer - I do not like the heat at all, which is not good when you live in the South! I am a Fall girl - my birthday is in Sept., then we go into Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year- love it!

  9. Oh my gosh. I just found your blog and this absolutely made my day! I am totally with you; the build up to Christmas is just fantastic. I'm also so sad on December 26th. It's a magical season :)

I've already started thinking about Christmas presents, so this is fitting!
