Just a peek!

So, I'm planning on giving you a complete Fall Tour of our home, because I just love it when it's decorated completely, but I've been working on a couple of projects that I just couldn't wait to share with you!  My beloved Nikon D5000 is in the hospital for a lens repair, and my husband has the good point and shoot on a man trip to Las Vegas, so you'll just have to wait! In the meantime, please excuse the crappy photography.

One of my favorite quotes of all time..and it works so well for Autumn! A home "full of treasures that look a lot like common things."
First up to experiment with was our foyer area...I found this glorious chalkboard and clock at TJ Maxx Homegoods a few months ago. It seriously is one of my favorite items in my house. I love that I can change what's written on it to whatever happens to inspire me at the moment and that little ledge for "chalk" holds any other goodies I may want to perch there. For summer, I propped up white starfish from my wedding with a quote about the sea.  That twine and those clothespins came with the board and I haven't clipped anything on until now....but those leaves are to die for clipped up there all askew!  I love love love the color combo for fall!

Speaking of leaves...

I found these at the Dollar Tree people. Not cheapo plastic looking leaves (which are fine for other projects, wreaths, etc...but not to clip up as the center of attention), but big, gorgeous, realistic leaves. TEN for ONE dollar. These are in several spots in my house right now, but the chalkboard is my favorite.

And these precious pumpkins? Also from Dollar Tree. Who knew? And they're carvable!!! (That is SO not a word.)  Which means that I was able to do this to one of them with Eric's pocket knife...
And then...
Stack one on top! No hot glue necessary! And as a final touch...

This guy to perch on top! From...the Dollar Tree! Eric made fun of it until he saw the foyer start to come together. Not a huge topiary, but perfect for the little half moon table in our foyer!  I can't wait to show you the rest! But hopefully with my camera back in hand and much better quality photos!

I'm linking this post up at The Inspired Room Fall Nesting Party and  This Blessed Nest Fall Festival! Thank you so much ladies for all of the wonderful posts and ideas! Stay tuned for the Fall Tour of our Home...
