We took our time getting ready and then checked out of our hotel and took the train to Paris. Our hotel there, the Hilton Arc de Triomphe, which was entirely different than the Trianon Palace in Versaille, but equally as impressive. It was a skip and a hop away from the Arc de Triomphe, which you might have guessed by the name :) It became a nightly ritual to stroll down and look at it all lit up after dinner.
Shot of our room...See what I mean about the style being completely different? |
View of the courtyard from our room. |
Down the Champs-Elysees, toward the Arc |
Place de Concorde |
First glimpse of the Louvre! |
It seemed like everywhere we went, the Eiffel Tower popped up, and every view was just as good as the next! It might be cheesy, but it is a beautiful tower, and an icon of Paris...I couldn't keep my fingers from snapping away photos :)
Our concierge recommended an excellent restaurant that was open late for dinner. It stayed light out so much later in France, and it would be 9 pm before we even realized it most nights!
Eric's delicious Floating Island for dessert. I don't think I ordered one dessert the whole trip, but I had many bites of his :) |
Oh you know...just passing the Arch on our way home... |
Headed back to our hotel at night. |
