The Weekend, Bloglovin, and Deals to Share

This weekend flew by super fast because Eric was home less time than normal, and since we're moving so soon, there is something to fill almost every single minute of the day with.

Saturday, we already had tickets to the Tampa Bay Championship. Eric is a really good golfer and loves going to tournaments. On the other hand, the closest I come to being a golfer is having my own set of (teal) clubs and managing to get a ball off the ground at the driving range from time to time. Plus, this was the first tournament I had ever gone to.

The weather was nothing short of glorious, and while I really think finding my way around a golf course may be one of the most confusing things in life, I had a really good time. Plus, the clubhouse had veggie/hummus boxes for the same cost as a hot dog. Score.

We grilled out on Saturday night, got some heavy furniture pieces moved around, and then spent Sunday getting rid of the little MG project car (found a buyer, thank goodness) and packing up the office.  I popped into Kirkland's, just because, and managed to find a partial apothecary jar set on clearance.  This set is still a deal for $20, but one of the jars broke in one or something, so I managed to get 2 for $9.

I use these things all over the house, for different seasons, and even for holding bathroom odds and ends, candy, sugar, coffee, you name it. So I never feel guilty buying - they will earn their keep. But yes, leave it to me to buy more breakable objects two weeks before moving.

This morning,  I'm lingering over another cup of coffee and trying to teach myself Bloglovin. I'm mourning the loss of my beloved Google Reader, but figured I would start easing myself into Bloglovin now to make the transition easier. I've already uploaded all my Reader files into Bloglovin so as not to miss a single post from any of you, and you can keep up with me and with Pierre's shenanigans using the Bloglovin button on my right sidebar, or by clicking here:

Further, I have a couple of deals to share with you. First, I've always been sort of interested in the Clarisonic Mia, and I have many friends who swear by it. I have uber-sensitive skin, I haven't been willing to drop the cash on one. So this deal popped up in my inbox this morning, and I had "Deal Bucks" to spend, so I decided to give it a try. Even without Deal Bucks, it's still only $16 and shipping is free if you want to give it a go. I'll report back on my thoughts.

Second, Eric and I have been wanting to take a Rosetta Stone course to learn French for a REALLY long time.  But combining that with getting a law degree and an MBA just wasn't happening for obvious reasons.  But alas, we have GRADUATED, and so now it's time to self-impose another course upon ourselves, because we apparently cannot be satisfied in a state of relaxation. Just kidding, sort of.

As you might know, and as the saying goes, Rosetta Stone ain't cheap.  Then Groupon goes and does it again with this deal:  $260 for all four levels, comparable to $450 elsewhere.

So we bought it to learn French. And I'm excited. Because if I were to ever expatriate, it would be to France. And because I think it will help us communicate better with Pierre, who obviously speaks fluent French as a first language.

I'm off to pack a few more boxes! Don't forget to find us over at Bloglovin as you make the transition too!

  1. Can Pierre teach Floyd French?

  2. I love some of the deals that I can find at Kirkland's!

Thanks for the advice on the bloggy front. You will have to check out what I have done with it.

And I haven't forgot about your email. I will mail ya back this evening :)

  3. Of course Pierre speaks fluent French...he's such a superstar!

  4. Awesome deals...thanks for sharing. I might have to check out the Dermatouch. I too have major sensitive skin so that sounds like a great way to try it out without much of an investment. Oh and I think Pierre should teach us all a little french. Maybe his next guest post :)

  5. love this pics and also your blog! It's so nice!!! I follow you!
Pass to my blog and if it likes you follow me too, I will be so glad :D
