A Final Farewell to 8512

Well, we made it!

I still have a heck of a lot of unpacking and organizing to do, but the kitchen and bathrooms are completely done. You know, the important stuff. You don't have a prayer of seeing the inside of this apartment in its current condition, but we are very, very, very pleased with it and the area that we're in for the time being. More to come once things are acceptable for the public eye.

For now, it didn't seem right to leave Tampa behind without a glance over the shoulder at the place we left behind, our very first home. The memories of it will always be so special to us because, well, that's just the nature of "firsts."

I'm so glad I paused to take these photos before I started packing our lives away.  At first, I was constantly fighting with Pierre to keep him out of the pictures, but then figured, what the heck. He was a "first" in that house too!

Without further adieu...

Note the little face looking out the window...

Thanks for indulging me in a little trip down memory lane for the archives.

Coming up soon: pics of the new (albeit temporary) home and for tips on making a cross country move less stressful for your fur-children...

  1. Pierre's favorite spots! Love that! And his tiny basset behind running up the steps! Too freaking cute. I love, love LOVE the photo set above your master bed and pretty much every single thing about your living room. Saying goodbye is always hard, but cheers to new and exciting beginnings! XO

  6. Yayyyy! You finally made it. I can't help but feel your tinge of sadness in leaving your first Casa behind, but that's what new beginnings are all about. Bittersweet is the best word to describe it, I think.
